A note from the creator

Hello, I’m Luc, and I am the creator of Creative Cook. Above is a picture of my small family. I am the darkest one in the picture :).

To better understand what creative cook is about, it’s important that you understand the motivation behind why I created it in the first place.

I am a cook at heart. I have been baking breads and pizza doughs on and off since I was in my early teens. Since then, I have always been look for ways to write down my recipes so I can remember them for later. More over, I have always been looking for a way where I could also write down versions of the same recipe so, I can always remember what I did wrong and or right with any of my recipes.

As a teenager, I relied on physical notebooks. But those are not reliable as they tend to get lost (they often did).

Later when smart phones arrived, I was able to use apps like notes, the record my recipes. However, it’s a bit hard to write versions in my notes. It’s alsy hard to search and find recipes.

After a few years of software development experience, I realized that I could create and app/website that could help me better keep track of my recipes. That’s how creative cook was born.

If you’re wondering whether or not you are creative cook, there is a simple test. Have you ever worked on a recipe for some time (a week, a month). As a result of working on this recipe, have cooked it, and then cooked it again with a different ingredient, then with a different method, a different temperature? If the answer is yes, then you might be a creative cook, and this webapp can be beneficial to you.

Even if you’re not a creative cook, my hope is that you could benefit from an ad-free experience when reading your recipes.
