1. Who We Are
Creative Cook is an independent web application developed by Luc, a solo developer. This policy applies to the Creative Cook web application and any associated services.
2. Data We Collect
Account Information
When you register, we collect your name, email address, and a hashed version of your password. We never store your password in plain text.
Recipe and Content Data
All recipes, ingredient lists, notes, and other content you create are stored in our database and associated with your account.
Usage Data
We may collect basic usage information such as the pages you visit within the app, actions you perform, and error logs. This helps us improve the application.
Device and Browser Information
We may collect general technical information such as your browser type, operating system, and approximate location at the country or region level to improve compatibility and performance.
Payment Information
If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your card number or sensitive payment details — that data lives with Stripe. We only store a reference to your subscription status.
Push Notification Tokens
If you opt in to push notifications, we store a device token to send you notifications. You can revoke this permission at any time through your device or browser settings.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to:
Provide, maintain, and improve the Creative Cook service.
Authenticate your account and keep it secure.
Send push notifications (only if you opt in).
Process payments and manage your subscription.
Respond to support requests.
Monitor and fix technical issues.
4. Third-Party Services

Open Food Facts — ingredient and nutrition data. Their privacy policy is available at openfoodfacts.org.
5. Data Retention
Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active.
If you delete your account, your personal data and recipes will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
Some anonymized, aggregated data such as error logs may be retained for longer for diagnostic purposes.
6. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate data.
Delete your account and associated data.
Export your recipe data in a portable format.
Withdraw consent for push notifications at any time.
7. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's Privacy
Creative Cook is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
